ATSC Products 

 

We provide block/system level designs and simulation test platforms targeting legacy ATSC and ATSC M/H - Mobile DTV products. We also provide simulation test  platforms. 

 

Available core blocks:   

¨     ATSC M/H (Mobile DTV) Transmitter 

o       M/H Frame Encoder, Block Processor, Signaling Encoder, Group Formatter, Packet Formatter, Modified data randomizer, Systematic/non-systematic RS Encoder,  Data Interleaver, Parity Replacer, Non-systematic RS encoder, Modified Trellis Encoder,  Field/Segment Sync and Pilot Inserter, VSB Waveform Modulator. 

¨     ATSC M/H (Mobile DTV) Receiver 

o       Blocks that are necessary for demodulating ATSC M/H Physical Layer signal including VSB Demodulator, M/H Synchronizer, Signaling Decoder, FIC Segment and FIC Chunk Processor,  Channel Decoder, M/H Symbol De-interleaver, RS Frame Constructor, RS Frame Decoder (RS and CRC), M/H Frame Decoder.   

¨      Legacy ATSC Transmitter 

o       Data Randomizer, Reed Solomon Encoder, Data Interleaver, Trellis Encoder, Field/Segment Sync and Pilot Inserter, VSB Waveform Modulator. 

¨     Legacy  ATSC Receiver 

o        Data Derandomizer, Reed Solomon Decoder (with or without erasures decoding), Data Deinterleaver,   Trellis Decoder (with or without Viterbi decoding), VSB Demodulator.  

 

Simulation Platform:   

 TosiaComm end to end ATSC simulation test platforms support block and system functionality and performance evaluation. The code architecture is designed for supporting HW, SW and radio implementation. It can support fixed point development, vector matching, and internal signals monitoring. 

Used performance metrics include:  SNR, EVM, MER, eye diagrams, constellation plots, BER, and, spectral plots (including mask conformance per ATSC A64B, and, IEEE P1631TM/D3) .

The TosiaComm test platform can be used to support development of mixed signal and RF transmitter and receiver components. Code is designed to support analog and RF component models and monitor system performance metrics in response to model parameters. Implementation artifacts include linearity, filtering transfer function characteristics, phase noise, aperture jitter among others.
